My Testimony

crossBeing brought up in solid Christian home meant that from birth my sister and I heard the gospel message on a regular basis. From Sunday School in the morning to the Sunday evening evangelistic service, the promise of salvation was made very clear. From an early age I witnessed many people come to faith in Jesus Christ. Our Sunday evening service always included an altar call and it was very common to see someone make a public profession of faith. Under the ministry of our Pastor, Dr. Roy Lawson, I will never forget the evening he spoke about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and I was convicted by the Spirit of God of my need for His forgiveness and grace.

I asked my mom if I could respond to the invitation and she asked if we could pray at home after the service. Later that same evening as we settled in back at our home my mom and I knelt beside my bed and I asked Jesus into my heart. I was so blessed to have an amazing and solid community of faith throughout my childhood and teen years. The teaching of the word of God was the foundation of everything in life and practice.
